My job at QVC is all about the shoes. I work with different vendors to create exciting private label collections as well as innovative A brand offers. The right product mix paired with great values is my ultimate goal. In addition to the product side of things, my other responsibilities include performance analysis, vendor sourcing and some programming work in Excel.

Floors change constantly to offer a sensational and fresh treasure hunt to customers every day with savings of up to 60% below the original retail price. 

I worked in the womenswear and accessories departments for the stores in Poland, Austria and Germany. 

 

As an allocation analyst, I played an important part in the successful execution of the company's vision. My responsibility was to ensure that the right goods go to the right stores at the right time.

To be able to do that, I had to be on top of my on order at all times and balance store analyses with vendor performance analyses to put together the right mix for her. I had to closely partner with our buying, store and logistics teams to coordinate and communicate my vision and react to last minute changes in a fast paced business environment. In addition to that, I worked closely together with other analysts and merchandising teams to make sure that we are in line. On a weekly basis, I developed, executed and communicated a shipping strategy.

 

This role not only required highly developed analytical skills, a great eye for detail, good organisation and stress resistance, but also great communication skills, creativity and enthusiasm.

Shop Assistant at Max Mara, Düsseldorf

Max Mara is an Italian luxury fashion retailer for women's ready-to-wear. The Düsseldorf Boutique is among their most important shops in Germany and offers a large variety of the company's brands including Max Mara, Studio Max Mara, S'Max Mara, Sportmax and Weekend. 

As part-time shop assistant, I was responsible for every need our customers had when visiting our shop. I provided fashion advice, presented complete looks in line with Max Mara's brand vision and coordinated customer orders as well as the checkout. Building and maintaining a good customer relationship was another part of my job, along with keeping everything inside the boutique in order.

As employee at Breuninger's customer service in their Düsseldorf Flagship store, I was responsible for issuing customer cards and for all questions and problems concerning the customers' accounts. Intern

As an intern at the international auction house's office in Cologne, I was mostly responsible for the reception, answering the phone, processing e-mails, greeting the customers, ordering office supplies and managing the mail. Being the first contact person for customers and visitors alike, my role in the office was very important and critical for the reputation of the house. 

Beside the reception I also worked on different research projects for the staff and helped translating from English to German and vice versa during appointments with international art experts.

Gallery Assistant

As assistant of the owner, I was responsible for everything in the daily business of the gallery. Besides customer care, including counseling and sales, I assisted in the selection and positioning of artworks for special exhibitions and our daily display. Additionally, I worked on the gallery's PR, proofreading the website and editing press releases. In that context, I also did the photography of our artworks and respective picture editing with Photoshop. I maintained our picture database, did research on the art and edited informational dossiers for the pictures we offered. To improve handling of invoices, I designed and introduced a standardized system with FileMaker, creating a database and an interactive entry mask. Finally, I edited a whole exhibition catalogue on the occasion of the gallery's 190th anniversary with Scribus.

Event Planner

In the context of a practice oriented seminar, I planned and executed the exhibition "art.spiring presents into details" with a group of other students. Besides being an important driving force in developing an exhibition concept, I was responsible for PR and marketing, e.g. managing social media presence and advertising. During the exhibition, I held the introductory speech, offered guided tours and acted as sales and contact person for our visitors.

Intern "Department of Prints and Drawings"

During my two months internship, I assisted with the set-up of the exhibition "Friedemann von Stockhausen. Ganze Teile." I also recorded the "Nachlass" of Bernard Schultze as well as of the printing plates by Erich Heckel from the inventory and added the respective data to the museum's database to prepare the works for exhibition. In line with that, I researched similar works in other collections. Further working with the database, I edited the entries for an upcoming Paul Klee exhibition and verified all entries concerning Adolph Menzel's prints based on the respective catalogue raisonné. Finally, I wrote an introductory text to Eduardo Chillida's "Aundi" for the museum's online offer, "collection online."

Research Assistant

As research assistant for Prof. Dr. Hendrik Birus, Head of the Chair for Comparative Literature Studies at the Jacobs University in Bremen, I was responsible for all sorts of literature research,  the management of library accounts and ordering of books as well as articles. 

As a larger project, I prepared a reader and an extensive bibliography for a highly important research project about a renowned German author.
